3 things you can do right now to kick off 2018 on a high note!

2018 isn’t approaching anymore, it’s here! Now what? I know you all have written out your goals for the year and I’m excited for all of you and prayerful that you reach each one of them! The main ingredient with goal success is preparation. Whether it’s mental prep or some type of physical preparation we have to be in a place conducive to hitting our goals and making the stride! Here are 3 things you can do right now to kick off 2018 on a high note:

  1. Meditate. Take some time to just sit and be quiet. Pick out your favorite scripture and just think on it and what God is saying to you through His Word. Let this scripture saturate you for a few minutes and declutter your mind.
  2. Reflect. Reflect in 2017. What went well? What didn’t go so well? Commit to not repeating mistakes and moving forward with more of what went well and successful. Reflect on God’s goodness and mercy to you throughout 2017 and take that reflection into the new year!
  3. Clean. I don’t have to tell you this but starting the year off with a clean house, clean office space and clean living area will do wonders for productivity! It just feels good!!

It’s a new year with new beginnings!! Signing off for 2017 but I’ll be back in 2018 with some fun content to foster some  fun discussions!

Here’s to a successful, productive, creative and amazing new year!

Repeat after me: In 2018, I can and I will!

#iSmile – Are You Packed Yet?

It’s been said that people may not remember what you said to them but they will always remember how you made them feel. This is how I remember Brock Benbow as one who would make me smile. I’m one of those people who if I hear someone laughing, I don’t even have to know what they are laughing at, I’m probably gonna start laughing too! Same goes for when someone smiles: you smile, I smile. Brock had a smile that seemed to be etched on his face, it never moved. I imagine that even the undertakers will not be able to contour his face away from that smile. God decided to call Brock, my Sunday School student, home on November 11, 2019 at the tender age of 24 years old. So young, so sudden. I’m finding it hard to grapple with this one and I even find myself at times questioning God. Why him God? Why this one? Why now? The questions fill my head but they topple over when I re-focus on the fact the God knows best. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to spend the majority of the

Fall Back Until the Divorce is in Black!

Have you ever caught yourself saying this?  -He’s separated and up for grabs! -He’s emotionally checked out of the marriage years ago so he’s single -He’s separated, he doesn’t even live with her anymore -He’s separated so he’s available Girrrl Stop! Let me say that again: Girrrl Stop! Separated is still married and last time I checked, you can date a married man! Don’t be fooled and don’t be made a fool of. When you encounter separated men you never know what can come of that situation so it’s best to fall back until the divorce is in black! If you date online, you will see that the sites do allow separated men to sign-up and in their profile it will say ‘Legally Separated’ but real talk, that still means ‘Legally Married’. Many men and women choose to date while they are separated because maybe they feel the relationship is really over and they want to move on, however this can be a recipe for disaster for the single person! Here are a few reasons si

Thottin' & Boppin'

I recently heard this term from my younger/older cousin. I call him that because he’s younger chronologically but very mature in many ways. When he said thottin’ & boppin’ you know I had to ask! The term THOT (which I loath) means ‘that ho over there’. The term boppin’ here suggest to be proud of what you’re doing almost as if to have no shame about it. I laughed at this as he explained to me what it was because honestly it just sounds funny. After giving it some thought, it is my message to my Christian sisters!  Stop thottin’ & boppin’ in the church! Thottin’ and boppin’ brings consequences and unnecessary stress. What do I mean? We all go through seasons of disobedience and as the old folks used to say, obedience is better than sacrifice. Maybe you’ve found yourself here: dating a man in the church, sleeping with him and still coming to sing on the choir on Sunday, and dare I say still got the nerve to take communion! Girrrl Stop! This should not be! You can’t be fo
